What happens if my spouse does not want to get divorced?

In the State of California, both spouses do not need to agree to the divorce. California is one of the states where either party can decide to end the marriage or domestic partnership. If your spouse or partner refuses to sign anything or participate in the divorce proceedings, you can have the judge enter a “default” judgment for the divorce.
